In the Hungarian crude oil industry tranportation of hydrocarbons is mainly by pipeline. Central control of the pipeline transportation of hydrocarbons is a high priority of the Hungarian Trust for Oil and Gas Industry. The centrai control system is part of the automated control system and is within the national dispatcher control system of the crude oil and natural gas industry; both systems are in the process of formation. The center for natural gas transportation control is Budapest. The control is carried out through intermediate regional dispatcher centers to be established in Hajduszoboszló, Vecsés, Kecskemét and Kápolnásnyék. Tasks of the regional centers are: data-collecting, control and telecontrol of set-point in relation to telemechanic stations and establishments along the line; data processing and display; and telecommunication between the main gas dispatcher center and the regional center. Functions of the main gas dispatcher center are: operative control of the activity of the regional centers; compilation of accounts and balances; organization of the elimination of breakdowns; and activity in the field of prognostics and operative design. Part of the system has been operating since 1967, using traditional telemechanic devices; another part has been put into operation in 1978. The system under development will unite the Hungarian high-pressure gas pipeline network.
