Joint prestack waveform inversion and acoustic reverse time migration

We propose a workflow that combines reverse time migration and prestack waveform inversion which allows an automatic model update in an iterative manner to produce accurate depth images and elastic depth models, which in turn, can provide the estimation of the subsurface petrophysical properties. By demonstrating our workflow on the real seismic data from the Cascadia Subduction Zone, we show that our proposed method can provide an accurate depth image and subsurface elastic properties which can be applied to any geologic setting around the world.
