Global Multiwell Wavelet Estimation

We describe a wavelet estimation method, based on a global optimization of synthetic to seismic matching for multiple wells simultaneously. The method splits the process of wavelet estimation into two stages: first - wavelet amplitude spectrum estimation using input seismic data and second - phase spectrum estimation using a global optimization simulated annealing approach.

We also discuss the stability of wavelet extraction in a quite ordinary situation when well-to-seismic tie is not perfect, and demonstrate the advantages of the proposed method for such conditions.
