He has a strong interest in reducing the environmental impact of the continued use of fossil fuels. His research focuses on flow assurance challenges of the CO2 value chain from the extraction point to the subsurface injectivity point with the integration of machine learning. Badejo has been actively involved with SPE since 2016 as a volunteer. He led the Heriot-Watt University PetroBowl team to the regional qualifiers in Zagreb, Croatia, and received the 2023 SPE Aberdeen Section Student Bursary Award. He also served as the 2018โ2019 SPE Programs Chairperson during his undergraduate studies and co-initiated the inaugural edition of The Industry Discourse, a student-led energy conference. He holds a masterโs degree in subsurface energy systems from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and a bachelorโs degree in petroleum and gas engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

SPE has student chapters around the world that provide an operating framework for society activities at a university level. Each student chapter is sponsored by a local, professional section and has the support of their university department. Petitions for new student chapters are reviewed three times a year: 15 February, June, and October. Please refer to the Student Chapter Resource Center to learn more about operating a student chapter and eligibility requirements listed below. At least 25 student members on the petition must be enrolled in at least a two-year degree program related to the energy industry.

Faculty Advisors for an SEG Student Chapter are uniquely poised to help students contribute to the field of geophysics and derive the maximum benefit from their SEG student chapter. Faculty Advisors serve as the liaison between SEG and the Student Chapter. Choosing a Faculty Advisor (and/or Co-advisor) who is committed to helping and maintaining a Student Chapter will ensure the continuity of a Student Chapter. The success (or failure) of a Student Chapter is often related to the participation (or lack of) of the Faculty Advisor. Even the most energetic Student Chapter President needs the support and encouragement of a Faculty Advisor.

National Geophysical Research Institute Geophysical Society, Hyderabad was established by Dr. V.P. Dimri just after he took up the charge of the director of the CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute . The promulgation of such a society is based on an idea which conceptualize to promote the science of geophysics, expose it to the masses and thus to provide the students an opportunity to learn the modern geophysical technology with global experts. The society conducts educational activities throughout the year in the institute, and takes part in the events organized by various geophysical organizations. The SEG-NGRI Student Chapter organized the highly anticipated NGRI-SEG Challenge Bowl competition on May 31, 2023, Wednesday, at 4:30 pm in the e-classroom. This event aimed to foster geoscientific knowledge, encourage healthy competition, and select a representative for the Asian Pacific level. With 35 registrations, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students with exceptional geoscientific prowess. The NGRI-SEG Challenge Bowl garnered immense interest, with 35 students registering to showcase their geoscientific knowledge.
