Welcome to PetroWiki Wiki, powered by SPE membership with all things related to the petroleum industry. In 1859, Col. Edwin Drake drilled and completed the first known oil well near a small town in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. This well, which was drilled with cable tools, started the modern petroleum industry. In 1897, near Summerland, California, U.S.A., H.L. Williams extended an offshore oil field into the Santa Barbara Channel by drilling a submarine well from a pier. This first offshore well was drilled just 38 years after Col. Drake's well.

Tables may be included in wiki pages with wiki markup language alone or in combination with XHTML. However, as a general rule, it is best to avoid using a table unless you need one. Table markup looks intimidating (although simple tables are not hard to enter) and presence of tables can complicate page editing. By far the easiest way to create a table is to use the table symbol () on the edit toolbar. You can use the dialogue box to define how many rows and columns, whether you want headers, and whether you want borders.

Several types of kriging methods are available, and they are distinguishable by how the mean value is determined and used during the interpolation process.[2] [3] [4] [5] [6] The four most commonly used variations are: * Simple kriging -- The global mean is known (or can be supplied by the user) and is held constant over the entire area of interpolation.
