DOI stands for digital object identifier. It is a numeric tag that is registered with Cross-Ref or another DOI registrar that is designed to provide a permanent link to the online source of the document or other resource. This ensures that you can still get to a document even though the original source has changed their website or otherwise "moved" the document from its original location. DOIs have two parts -- a prefix that indicates the publisher or source of the material, and a unique alphanumeric identifier for documents from that publisher. Most (but not all) SPE papers have DOI links.

References (refs) on PetroWiki are important to validate writing and inform the reader. Any editor can potentially remove unsupported material, and unsubstantiated articles may end up getting deleted; so when something is added to an article, it's highly advisable to also cite a reference to say where the information came from. It can also be a good idea to update or improve existing references. Referencing may look daunting, but it's easy enough to do. Here's a guide to getting started.

InSAR (Interferometry for Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology is a spaceborne method of measurement with the ability to precisely detect ground motion with radar satellite images. Because measurements are taken remotely from space without any installations on the site, a high measurement density is possible.
